DEQ to hold public informational meeting on draft air quality permit to construct for Midas Gold

BOISE — The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a public informational meeting on a draft air quality permit to construct for Midas Gold Idaho Inc.'s Stibnite mine, located at the intersection of Forest Service Roads NF-374 and NF-412. 

The meeting will be held virtually on October 27, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. MDT. DEQ staff will be available to answer questions and provide information about the permit and permitting process. To request a link to the virtual meeting please email Darrin Pampaian at darrin.pampaian@deq.idaho.gov.

Midas Gold Idaho, Inc., applied for a permit to construct an open-pit gold mine and to operate on-site ore processing, ore concentration and refining, and ancillary equipment. DEQ has reviewed the application and information submitted by Midas Gold and proposes issuing the permit.

DEQ extended the public comment period on the draft permit to construct until November 11, 2020, at 5 p.m. MST.
